WEBINAR DESCRIPTION:

CivilFEM 2020 Powered by Marc  is a general purpose civil/structural and geotechnical engineering software for the analysis and design of any type of engineering structure. CivilFEM has unique capabilities, which combine non-linear analyses and code verification and design, making CivilFEM a unique solution for all the civil /structural and geotechnical engineering projects.

The intuitive interface allows to model quick and easily complex structures with a complete range of analysis tools, solving static, dynamic and multi-physics loading scenarios with accurate results.

CivilFEM 2020 Thermal-structural coupled analysis allows to perform detailed advanced heat transfer analysis which involves the calculation of the temperature distribution (steady-state or transient) within a structure due to thermal boundary conditions (conduction and convection) and the determination the thermal effects on it, such as:

  • Material properties modification (Young´s modulus, yield strength, etc.).
  • Induced thermal stresses and the combined effect with other structural loads on the structure behavior and design: increase of needed reinforcement in concrete, instabilities or buckling on steel structures, higher stresses and deformations, etc.

Date: Jan 27, 2021 (Wednesday)
Duration: 45 min.
Host Román Martin, MSc. Civil Engineer – Engineering Dept. Head, INGECIBER, S.A.

The aim of these online webinar is to present CivilFEM 2020 advanced thermal-structural coupled analysis for Fire Protection Design with two examples:

  • Simply supported reinforced concrete beam subject to Standard fire (Eurocode): transient thermal-structural coupled analysis according to Eurocodes EN 1992-1-2 [1] and EN 1993-1-2 [2].
  • Steel building fire collapse: transient thermal-structural analysis to design fire protection and analyze the risk of progressive collapse. Two different fire scenarios are defined in different building locations to calculate safety time before building collapse due to columns buckling under high temperatures.

Join this webinar to learn about:
• Thermal-structural coupled analysis.
• Fire protection design
