 CivilFEM Intro - Capabilities -OTHER CAPABILITIES

OTHER CAPABILITIES

Connection with SAP 2000 and FLAC 3D

* Automatic import of a SAP2000 finite element model into CivilFEM.

* Automatic export-import of a CivilFEM model into FLAC3D.

* This connection is established at preprocessing level, with the possibility of exporting CivilFEM's model to FLAC3D, and at postprocessing level by means of importing to CivilFEM the structural element forces calculated by FLAC.

* The model generation is easier and faster with the integration (materials, geometry and meshing).

* Solution of CivilFEM models makes use of FLAC3D's powerful features for soil and rock analysis (material behavior laws, explicit solver, special geotechnical elements, porous media, etc)

* Postprocessing of FLAC structural elements with CivilFEM (reinforcement design, checking, etc).

Cad integration

* Using ANSYS capabilities, a large number of CAD formats are supported including SAT, Parasolid & IGES and native files: CATIA, Unigraphics, Pro/Engineer, etc.

* Import geometry from DXF file (New).

* Import terrain surfaces from LiDAR ASCII_GRID (SIG) files.

                                   Import a geometry in DXF as complex as you want

                          Import terrain surfaces from LiDAR ASCII_GRID (SIG) files.

Advanced tools

* Design sensitivity analysis.

* Design optimization analysis.

* ANSYS parametric design language (APDL).

- Define geometry in terms of variables.
- Trigonometric functions.
- Do-loop feature.
- If-then-else constructs.
- Array parameters / array operations.
- Array parameters operations. - Macros.

* Session log.

- Record in a file (log file) of all the commands executed by the program during a job.
- Repeat the session by reading a file (log file) that can be modified by the user.
- Document a job session.

* UPF's (User programmable features).
