In civil engineering, structures are subjected to time-varying loads and it is crucial to take them into consideration in order to accurately analyze their response to these loads. Furthermore, this phenomenon is more complex when nonlinearities are included (large displacements, plasticity, contacts, etc.).
Dynamic transient analysis is the technique used to determine the dynamic response of a structure under actions such as impacts, seismic actions, explosions, thermal loads in transient state, mechanisms, vibrations, analysis of seepage in transient flow conditions, etc.
